ALPS System

ALPS (Advanced Locking Plate System) is a biological fixed-angle locking plate system designed for small animal orthopedic fracture repair, arthrodesis and corrective osteotomy in dogs and cats. It adopts a threaded conical locking interface between plate and screw head to build a rigid fixed-angle construct, which does not rely on friction between plate and bone. The scalloped undersurface minimizes bone-plate contact, preserves periosteal blood supply and reduces stress shielding. Each hole accepts either locking screw or conventional cortical non-locking screw for hybrid fixation. Most small-size plates are cuttable and bendable in two planes to match irregular bone anatomy. K-wire positioning holes are integrated for temporary intraoperative reduction and alignment. The whole implant is made of medical titanium with excellent biocompatibility, corrosion resistance and lower elastic modulus compared with stainless steel, beneficial for bone remodeling. It is widely indicated for diaphyseal, metaphyseal, comminuted and osteopenic bone fractures as well as pancarpal / tarsal arthrodesis.
